I found All Aboard Transport by combing the Internet for car carriers to move my 1967 Plymouth Sport Fury III convertible from NY to SC. Of all the carrier reviews I read (and I read a lot of them), All Aboard Transport and Fletcher had the most consistently positive customer reviews. I first spoke with Fletcher in early May, discussed that I needed to move my car before July, and he answered a bunch of questions for me about auto transport in general.
It turns out that what I appreciated most about AA Transport, besides the patient and great customer service Fletcher provided, is that the company worked to find a suitable transportation company to meet my need. My understanding is that AAT does not actually transport vehicles itself, but rather searches for and matches the services, routes, etc. of existing transportation companies that best fit the needs of AAT's customers; kind of like a broker. As such, I felt Fletcher was more concerned with finding me the RIGHT transportation instead of just selling a spot on a truck. Similarly, after talking with Fletcher for nearly an hour (in which time he was completely patient and informative), I felt I could trust his judgment on which transports to use. Like I said, I read a lot of reviews about other companies and many, many people said they were low balled in the original bids then hit with "additional charges" before their vehicle "could be delivered" (i.e., fees for mileage, fuel, etc.). Fletcher found me a quote, gave me his opinion on it, and left the final decision to me. From what I had read, I felt the quote I settled on was fair.
The driver that showed up to pick up my car was on time, answered any questions I asked him, and seemed like a generally good person. Plus, he was a Mopar man himself, which made me feel he'd take a little extra care with my Plymouth. The car was delivered to SC on time and in the same condition it left NY.
The only surprise I had was that while I was able to pay the deposit by credit card, the balance to the driver had to be paid in cash, money order, or cashier's check (no credit card). Not that big of a deal, but I only found out about this after I agreed to the quote and received the transport order information via email. However, I mentioned this to Fletcher and he did give me the opportunity to pay the whole amount upfront, but I opted to wait until my car arrived safely at its destination. Again, this was not a big issue but I was coordinating with someone in SC to accept the delivery (because I wouldn't be there) so getting the balance in cash to them could have posed a challenge. But, it all worked out.
Overall, I am very pleased with the service I received from All Aboard Transport and Fletcher. To anyone looking for a vehicle transport company, I whole heartedly recommend you consider All Aboard and give Fletcher a call.
