What a Surprise!

After winning a bid on ebay for a used Mini Cooper and reading many reviews on this site, I contacted 1st Call Auto Haul on Friday 8/18/06 and received an instant quote (anywhere from $200-$500 less than the other places we contacted).

I placed the pickup order on Saturday via their website and asked for pickup anytime after Wed. 8/23/06. Lisa called on Monday to let me know she had found a carrier which would pickup our car on Thursday 8/24/06 and deliver it the following Friday 9/1/06. She also mentioned that it was possible the car would show up early and that the transport company would call 24-48 hours in advance to let us know when to expect them.

I called the carrier company on Thursday afternoon to confirm everything was going as scheduled and they informed me that the car would not be picked up until Friday. I was slightly disappointed but not too concerned since they had allowed themselves over a week to deliver it.

Friday came and about 10:30 AM our car salesman in NJ called us to let us know the car had been picked up and to say that the driver asked him to call and tell us he would see us tomorrow or Sunday. What a surprise! A week early!!! Sat. at 11 AM the driver called and said he would be at our door in 1 hour. 55 minutes later he called from the street outside our house. That, to me, is superior service. It can't get much better than that. :)

The only other thing I think I should meniton is, when my husband took delivery of the car he did miss two things... a dent in the roof of the car and there was a small spider stone crack in the windshield. Neither of these items were marked on the vehicle inspection report when the car was picked up but both could have easily been there and just overlooked since it was raining during pickup (an my husband initially missed them during a sunny delivery day). Both are easily fixed and we will not be filing any claims for this damage.

I would not hesitate to use 1st Call again for my car transportation needs.
