To All,
I will say this, Mr. Harkavy. You sir, definitely test the limits of my good nature. I am a fair guy with what I hope is considered a good reputation, but my good will ceased when you wrote this review. According to you, the days of personal responsibility are over. You sir, are the reason McDonald's needs to put "Caution-Coffee Is Hot" on the side of their obviously hot coffee. After reading the terms & conditions of our contract, you still need someone to blame. Rick, I won't apologize and after all is said and done, I feel sorry for you. According to you, you're not responsible for reading the contract, for signing the contract, or for understanding the contract.
Mr. Harkavy's vehicle was picked up in Washington and delivered to New York. It was properly secured for the entire trip, using the vehicle manufacturer's tie downs. Unfortunately, these tie-downs are not always free from defect, and occasionally the chains will pull through the hole it secures to and may cause damage to the underside of the vehicle being transported. Again, this happens from time to time and it is no fault of the driver, carrier, and certainly not of the broker. It will mostly happen on older models where the bottom of the vehicle is rusted out. Because it is not a fault of the carrier or their driver, 1st Call Auto Haul takes the necessary steps in their terms & conditions to note that this is not damage covered should it happen during transport (See Terms & Conditions Below).
Mr. Harkavy’s vehicle was delivered in the dark & the following day he noticed the “pull through” underneath his car. He called 1st Call Auto Haul immediately and at that point I explained to him
