First Time Enclosed Move

I recently completed a military Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move, which required that I move 3 vehicles. The governement only provides funding for 2 personally owned vehicles (POV), so I was on my own to procure transportation for my '96 Mustang Cobra. I knew that there were auto shipping companies, but I just didn't know whom to choose. This website (transportreviews) was very helpful. I saw the great record 1st Call Auto Haul had made for itself. I was also impressed that Eric had taken the time to tactfully respond to each negative comment that was posted about his company. His comments really made me think that he had a great eye for detail and conducted business with integrity. I contacted Eric and he was quite knowledgable and very willing to listen to my concerns. Unfortunately, as I learned from Eric, my lowered Mustang required the use of an enclosed carrier because the ground clearance was only 2.75 inches. Of course this increased the cost of transport considerably, but it did mean that my low mileage Cobra would be better protected. Eric also worked with me to provided a reasonable and much appreciated military discount. If you are moving to an area that is not well traveled by auto transport services, call ahead early. I called about 25 days ahead of when I need to have the car shipped. Eric was able to find an enclosed carrier that picked up the vehicle right on time. One thing you need to realize about 1st Call Auto Haul is that they find carriers for you...in my case, 1st Call was not the actual carrier. 1st Call is there to find a suitable carrier and be your advocate in the nation wide auto transportation business. The carrier Eric chose, Premeir Hot Shot, did a great job. I recieved the car just as I had left it in Charleston. No matter who you choose to ship your car, stay on top of them. Call them back. It is your responsibility as the customer to ask the right questions and call back if your not getting a prompt answer. This happened a few times with Eric, but he was more than willing to answer my questions or find the solution. In closing, I would definately choose 1st Call Auto Haul again. I would also recommend them to anyone. It is their top notch customer service and attention to detail that makes them stand out. I'll call Eric again for my next PCS move.
