This guy insisted that we pay him a CASH deposit. We did not hesitate since he is friends with a friend of mine. BIG MISTAKE! He told us that they would pick up my vehicle by that same Saturday and after calling that trucker, they told us that the order was cancelled because "5 DIAMOND doesn't pay their bills". After trying to get a hold of this guy, he finally responded and said that he would guarantee a pick up by that week. HE disappeared AGAIN.
I was relocated to California and my wife had to follow up with him. After having our friend chase him down, he gave us a check for $600 ($500 for the original deposit and the $100 additional for "our trouble"). We went to the bank to cash it (at the originating bank) and we were turned away and given a strange look.
So, this guy has not only scammed us but is breaking the law by giving us a STOLEN CHECK.
He has been reported to the State Attorney's Office for Bank Fraud.
