First: I talked with representatives of several transport companies.
Second: I looked at these reviews
Third: I scrolled to the bottom to read about problems other people had
Fourth: It appeared to me the biggest problem was not showing up on promised date.
Fifth: Next was getting a driver to go to a remote USA location such as mine.
Sixth: Getting locked into a bad carrier by paying a big up-front deposit
Seventh: Quoting low and needing to raise price to get someone to go to a remote pick-up point.

Thanksgiving was approaching and I took a break to visit out-of-town grandchildren; and consider best approach. Saturday A-1 called to tell me they had a driver willing and able to pick-up the car on Monday. He did. A-1 called on Tuesday and requested a 10% (not a 50%) deposit, I did. Car arrived on promised date 2,000 miles from pick-up point.

Bottom line: I paid more then most other quotes. But I didn't have any of the above identified potential problems. Remember the old adage "You get what you pay for"... or don't get what you don't pay for.
