A AAAdvantage - nightmare experience

On August 3, 2004, I hired A AAAdvantage Auto to move my 2001 VW Golf from Los Angeles, CA to New Haven, CT. When employee Sean Herbert picked up my automobile on August 13, he assured me that I would have the vehicle within 10 days. The company's website also projected that the car would arrive in New Haven around August 24. However, the car never left Los Angeles until about September 8, 25 days after it was picked up. I finally received the car on September 16, 2004.

A delay of 23 days, particularly when caused by A AAAdvantage's inefficiency and poor planning, is unacceptable. (I was told by customer service representative Alicia Brown that the delay was caused by too high a demand.) Customer service was erratic, they didn't answer emails, they only returned phone calls under duress, and the live internet agents so prominently advertised by the company's website are never there.

On September 20, when I asked Ms. Brown about compensation for the delay, she advised me to send an email to her manager Sandy Welch, which I did on September 27. Ms. Welch contacted me the following day, informing me that she sent my message to Alicia Brown for review. I have heard nothing since.

A AAAdvantage's delay resulted in my having to postpone a move from New Haven to Boston, MA, having to arrange for alternative transportation to move my things, and taking time off from work to get to New Haven to pick up my car. I'll never hire this company again.

A AAAdvantage Auto Transport, Inc. tries to deliver all vehicles within the normal transit time quoted of 7-14 days occasionally we fall short. We issued a credit of $75.00 back to Mr. Cohens’ credit card as a goodwill reimbursement for expenses incurred during the transport. We apologize for any inconvenience Mr. Cohen may have experienced.
