This transport was not up to our usual standards and we apologize.
Eli contacted us Friday, August 10 to inquire about price and availability to ship from Ft. Lauderdale, FL to Shelton, WA and placed an order online Friday evening. We confirmed his order on Monday, August 13. The pickup was to be August 15-17 at a Honda dealer in Ft. Lauderdale with delivery in seven to twelve days in Olympia. Eli agreed to meet our truck in Olympia, WA on delivery. We spoke with Eli on August 14 to let him know pickup would be August 17. On August 16 our truck was delayed a day and we contacted Eli and the dealer to let them know pickup would now be August 18. On the morning of August 18 our truck was to deliver two vehicles to a dealer in Atlanta. The dealer refused to accept delivery till Monday morning when the authorized person would be there to receive them. We spoke with Eli on Monday morning, apologized for the delay and let him know pickup would be that afternoon. We called Eli Monday afternoon and informed him his vehicle was picked up. The delivery at that time was August 27-28.
On Friday, August 24 we confirmed delivery with Eli for August 27-28. On Monday morning we spoke with Marla and delivery was set for Tuesday, August 28. Late Monday our local three car truck for delivery had a breakdown. On Tuesday morning it was determined it would take till Thursday for the repair. We called Eli and Marla at home and on the cell phone and left a message on the cell phone. We called twice later in the day and reached Marla at home the second time. She had not got our message because her cell was not working in the area. We offered $75 off of the COD amount if she wanted to come pick up the vehicle at our carrier’s office in Federal Way, WA or we would deliver the vehicle on Thursday. She insisted on $100 deduction and we agreed.
For most customers transporting a vehicle is a stressful experience quite often involving relocating. A large part of our job is to take our customers stress and worry and make it ours. In this we failed. Probably due to their frustration Eli & Marla have some of their facts incorrect. The price for the transport was $1175, not $1275. Eli & Marla agreed to meet our truck in Olympia, WA which is 30 miles from their home. Instead they drove to Federal Way, WA which is 66 miles from their home but it probably felt like 100 miles when they were driving there. Our carrier’s location in Federal Way is a fenced in secure location with their offices, parking area and 24 hour security guards.
