How do people who work for them sleep at night?

Wish I had checked this site fefore I made my arrangements for my car to be transported. I did this by phone and these unethical people took my $850 right from my checking account on 7-25-2007. No contract was seen until they sent it to me on 8-2-2007 and on it said that I have "agreed to the terms and conditions set forth by said merchant" I was never even was told that there was the slightest chance of my car not being picked up on the date we agreed to by phone. This ws the first time I had ever had a vehicle transported and yes, I ws very naive and trusting. I did call them shortly before my pick up date, ( 9-10-2007) and wondered why I hadn't heard from anyone yet. I was told that they would call the morning of the pick up. From the motel we were staying at before boarding our plane the next a.m., I called again. I was told that it would be "another day or two". After explaining that our arrangement was for pick up that day, I was told that I didn't read my contract (which I did not get until after payment was made and which I DID NOT SIGN) I tried to share my frustration with (John) and said that he seemed not to care that we were in a bind since we were scheduled to leave in the morning. To this he replied " You're right, I don't care", and hung up. It is now over two weeks of our car sitting in a motel parking lot and not one person from this shady outfit has called. I, however, have called numerous times and always been confronted with rudeness, lies and indifference. How can a company like this stay in business? I am, of course, filing complaints with BBB, NY State Attorneys Office, Nassau County Consumer Affairs Dept. and any other consumer affairs organization I can think of. I'm sure that all of these organizations are quite familiar with their exploits and unconscionable method of dealing with customers. Right now I am just hoping that I can get my money back and make better arrangements with reputable people to get my car back. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!
