I can't say enough good things about Larry and his staff at AAAll States Transport. First of all, the carrier that they contracted could not have been nicer or more efficient. He came as close to our house as he possibly could and on the other end (we were sending a car down to our daughter in college in North Carolina) he got as close as he could to her dorm, unloaded the car and then drove to right in front of her dorm room! That's service. Regarding AAAll States, it was an interesting process. Larry supplied an estimate or "bid". $100 of that would be his fee, the remainder goes to the carrier. The job and the carrier amount is posted on their board online. Truckers look at the board for routes that make sense for them. If there's no or little action, which was the case for us for almost 10 days, Larry asks if we'd like to raise the bid to attract more attention. So we raised it $75 and within a day or two, we had a carrier. While I was a little suspicious at first that this was a ploy, fact of the matter is the bid was just too low. Sort of like negotiating a low real estate commission on a house sale only to find no realtors want to show it. But at the end of the day, what I learned is that despite the amount of the original bid, its the market that sets the price. The broker is simply trying to guess at what the right amount to the trucker will be while keeping their bid competitive enough so that you choose them. The thing I liked about Larry and AAAll States was that at least this process was out in the open and transparent, so I knew what was going on at all times. Nothing was hidden or shifty. I would definitely use these folks again when I have to bring the car back in May. They are very professional, courteous and honest. They have a good business that respects their customers and the truckers they send jobs to.
