Frustrating Communication and Delivery

I used Acertus to move a vehicle from NJ to NC. I will say that the order process was easy and the car did get to me, but that's the extent of the positives. I was a bit frustrated that even though I gave them a target pickup date, they did not bid the job until that day instead of lining up a truck for pickup on that date. Maybe that's the industry standard, but I would have expected that they would have been more proactive to get a driver aligned before the day of pickup. I was not notified by Acertus that the vehicle was scheduled and was actually picked up. The dealership from which I bought the car was the one that told me that the driver was there already (mid-afternoon). I would have expected that the customer would have been given an update that the job was dispatched and that the car was being picked up. My first communication from Acertus was the daily email (at 10:15pm) that just gave a date - no details of the driver, truck, etc. I was given an ETA of June 8th. No further details were communicated at any point as to a timeframe that the vehicle was to arrive. I was awakened by my doorbell at approximately 6am by the delivery driver. His first question was "Is that your truck?". He then proceeded to tell me that he arrived at 2am and was very annoyed that I didn't get his text message at 2:20am that he was there. He made it sound like it was my fault that I didn't take delivery in the middle of the night. As stated, I was never given any notice other than a date. He unloaded the truck, shoved the paperwork in my face to sign and then left. There was no inspection as I expected. Again, I did get my truck ultimately in a very reasonable time, but the lack of communication and the attempt of delivery at 2am was not what I would have expected from the company. If this was the service I was expecting, I probably could have used a cheaper option. I will not be using Acertus in the future.
