Advanced quoted me $785 for the move. When I called and advised it was inoperable, they indicated it would be another $50-100 at the discretion of the driver. They said that I needed to give a $200 deposit and they'd get me the contract. Contract did not show up for a couple days, yet the driver was at the pick up spot to get car within hours. After calling them to cancel the move due to never getting the contract, they advised that I would forfeit deposit. They finally faxed me a copy with a new amount of $956 and when I called they indicated that there was the inop fee PLUS another 8% that was, of course, never disclosed. I got the assurances from the owner that this was the final amount and told him to move the car. When it got to me, the drivers amount was for yet another $50 dollars for the fuel that I was told was already enclosed.

Of course, the owner will say that this is in the contract, which it is as this is why i specifically cited our conversation when the contract was sent in. When I called to discuss, I was told that he didn't recall the conversation. When I threatened legal action, he said that nobody would sue over $50 bucks. When I mentioned the BBB, he said he could care less about them.

The bottom line is these guys will add money to your quote. They apparently think that this type of business practice is acceptable. Before using, check out the BBB and I would suggest running fast and furiously away. My suggestion is save the broker fee and just call the carrier directly. I got ripped off, but if I keep at least one other person from getting the shaft then it was $50 bucks well spent.

This customer was fully aware of all the charges including the fuel surcharge of $50.00 [paragraph#3]of the terms and conditions which he signed, the other items were included in the terms and conditions as well [in operable vehicle fee, could be $200.00 he was only charged $100.00, Everything was told to him and included in the contract, I guess he wanted the move for nothing.
