This is a follow-up to my phone call to you, thanking you for the way you handled my request to ship my brother's car from Glendale, AZ to Bangor, ME.
When it became necessary for me to arrange shipment of the car, I asked all my friends and acquaintances for their experiences in car shipping. None of them had any such experiences, so I was left with looking into the yellow pages in the Phoenix phone book to find a shipper.
Unfortunately, the first pick I made, based on the fine ad they had in the phone book, proved to be an extreme disappointment, to say nothing of a costly lesson, which I had learned long ago, that being,"Never pay in full for a service until you are satisfied at its completion." I won't go into details about the way I was treated after they got their money, other than to say, I was so frustrated I cancelled the contract.
After cancelling the contract, I went back into the phone book, then I called and talked with you. Immediately, I wished I had called you first. You gave me hope that you could get the car to Bangor to coincide with my brother's arrival there, so he wouldn't have to spend a week or more there in a hotel waiting for his car. You did it, and my brother and I are grateful.
We had to change my brother's airline ticket for a later date (not your fault), then adjust again for delays caused by the world trade disaster, but the end story is my brother got his car in excellent shape with all the contents intact.
I should also thank the people at "Chips" for their handling of the car and for storing it at my request until we could tell them when my brother would be in Bangor. I talked with Steve at Chips - he's a prince in my book, very understanding and helpful. As it happened, my brother arrived in Bangor late Saturday and the car was delivered to him the following Monday. Perfect.
If anyone ever asks me about shipping a car, I will tell them of my experience with AAAT and whole-heartedly recommend they contact you. I feel certain that even if I had paid you in full before the car was picked up, I still would have received the excellent service you and Chips rendered for us.
