Expensive lesson in Poor Service

Tried to get my daughters car delivered to her new duty station, because of the situation it was a tight time frame to accomplish the move.

The organization missed the two delivery windows given and ultimately missed the entire window of opportunity for delivery. Offering their first pickup time over three weeks after the contract issued, and then bumping up quoted price by $300.00.

Cost me $200.00 to learn this lesson....non-refundable deposit. Then Helen argued with me via phone about how she and her group had not failed me.

Mr. Greenleaf placed his order on the 22nd of February and asked if we could deliver the vehicle by the 4th of March. The Transport was from New Hampshire to California a total of 3065 miles which takes approximately 7 to 10 days to complete. In order to accommodate Mr. Greenleafs request we would have to secure a carrier within 24 hours of taking his order. Donna one of our transport specialist took the order and explained that we would try to secure a carrier that would accommodate a delivery on the 4th; however she asked for a contiguous plan if we were unable to secure a carrier within 24 hours. Mr. Greenleaf said if you cannot get the car delivered by the 4th his daughter would not be in California for the delivery until after the 13th of March. So back to work we went, needless to say we secured a carrier and dispatched the vehicle on the 12th of March with a 7-10 day delivery. Gabby one of our dispatchers called Mr. Greenleaf to review the dispatch at which time he asked that we guarantee that the vehicle would be delivered by the 23rd. Unfortunately within this industry due to situations beyond or control such as but not limited to inclement weather, mechanical breakdowns, road construction, remote pick-up or drop off locations, difficult or limited lanes of travel, etc., we cannot guarantee pick-up or delivery on specified date and or time by the assigned carrier. As for arguing with a client that is not how we operate our practice, we were merely explaining the circumstances surrounding Mr. Greenleaf order and try to do all possible to accommodate his request. The vehicle was dispatched we hold Certificates of insurance for said carrier and were looking to complete the transport for Mr. Greenleaf, however he would not except our dispatch because he asked for a promise regarding the delivery. All that have the opportunity to read this posting please know that if any transport broker or carrier promises a date for pick-up or delivery it is not good practice. We go above and beyond for our clients and will continue to so do, however we are very realistic and our approach is to under promise and over delivery. Unfortunately Mr. Greenleaf cancelled his order based on not receiving a promise for delivery.
