I got a quote to pick up a car I purchased for my son in Miami. I paid $299 deposit several weeks in advance. Standard practice is for all fees to be paid at delivery, but because the quote was so low I paid the deposit. I called several times to ask who is the driver and when will it be picked up so I could let my POC for the car pickup know? The day prior and on the day of I called them, they still did not have a driver, so I told Lisa, "don't worry about a driver because they can't find one", I'd fly down instead and drive it up. I also called another shipper before I called All Star to see if they had a driver, because all shipping companies use the same database to book transport and they can see who is going where and when? That shipper confirmed that All Star did not have a driver for my car. All star did not want to credit me back my deposit, and they charged me an $85 cancellation fee. I called my bank and they gave me back my money because they did not provide me with the service. I'm in the military and getting such a good price for the delivery should have been a warning sign for me, because I have shipped cars before and I know what is an average fare. I should have done a BBB check before I requested their service.
