These situations are rare and certainly not enjoyable. Allegiant's customer was working with multiple companies simultaneously, which we strongly advise against. Allegiant assigned a carrier to this load and the driver went 250 miles out of his way to pick up this vehicle. The customer ultimately went with another broker company (for a higher price point than what we agreed to) and the carrier is now left in a tough situation. Our driver said no to other paying customer to help Theresa. Our policy was clear and understood from the very beginning. To highlight our integrity Allegiant is willing to credit the customer for a future shipment and this credit can be shared to a referral. However, Allegiant was involved in no unethical practices during the course of this relationship. The transaction was understood by the customer and the policy for canceling was made explicitly clear from the very start.
