I contacted Alliance Auto to ship my car for the quoted rate of 400 dollars from PA to GA. When I called I was told that was not door to door service and if I want door to door it was 580 dollars. I told him that I have other carriers, I tried to end the call there, Marc told me that he just found a carrier who would do it for 400 dollars, He made a promise of pickup that day or the next AM and the car would be delivered in three days. I agreed to ship the car and put a deposit down. I never heard back from them, I called the day the car was going to be delivered, and was told that they could not find a carrier to pick up the car for that rate and that the car will not be delivered unless I paid more money. I said fine, I will add 40-60 dollars to the quote, the customer service person told me that he will have to get dispatch to call me back in 1/2 hour. Never got a call back. I called back a couple of times and was put on hold for over 10 min and then put to a voice mail, did not get a call back for two days.Because I never got a call back I thought that they could not do the job, so I hired another carrier. I got a call at 6:45 AM two days later, telling me that I need to add 180 dollars in order to get the car picked up. I said do not worry about it, I have another carrier, I was told that no one will pick up my car, at the quoted rate, and that my car will not be shipped unless I paid them the other 180 dollars. No other carriers would pick up the car either because of the type of car and the quote that was placed on the board. I told him to cancel the order, I felt he was bait and switching me and trying to scare me to pay them the extra money. I am not sure if he did or did not cancel the order, I got a call back about an hour later, explaining they had a carrier ready. I am not sure at what cost, I did not ask, I told him that I have hired another carrier and to cancel the order. I did not ask about my 100 deposit, I am going to see if they refund it or make me fight to get it back. My carrier had a truck there in less then 3 hours from hiring them. I simply wanted to pay fair market value and have communication from the broker about getting the car shipped. I was very disappointed in the communication about my car not being shipped, if it was a money issue, I should have gotten a call sooner so I could approve a increase and I should not have to chase them to get the details. I was expecting to receive the car on a promised date that they could not deliver and was never told that the car would not be arriving. I am sorry that I wasted time with this carrier, I have shipped many cars before and it is worth having strong customer service to report the progress. I will not use them again, and will strongly suggest that no one else use them.
