The whole car shipping experience was very pleasant and smooth! As I had never shipped a car before in my life, I did my research on the Internet and came across AmeriFreight. As I liked their excellent reviews, I completed the quote request form online. Within 24 hours I received an email with a very reasonable estimate. I called Bob Turner at AmeriFreight to have him walk me through the process. He was very transparent and straight forward with me. No sales pressure, sugar coating or upselling - just plain and clear information. I connected instantly with him. It built my trust even more when he didn't try to sell me more expensive shipping options, because I had concerns about the Economy Saver way of shipping my "new" car on an open truck 2,000 miles across the US. He recommended starting with the Economy rate and wait for bids to come in. If the bidding shipping companies asked for more, we would start at a lower base. Besides, it is spring time, i.e. no harsh weather that could do "damage" to a car on an open truck. The strategy worked, and I only had to increase my order by $75 to get the car shipped immediately. Nothing compared to hundreds of $$$ more for some sort of first class treatment. As I had to coordinate the pick-up in Minnesota remotely from California, Bob was extremely helpful along the way - always available and responsive. When a shipping company accepted my order, Bob provided me with the name of that company right away. It was a big relief when I looked up their reviews on the Internet - excellent. More peace of mind! And the best: The car was delivered to my house two days ahead of schedule on Memorial Day! I couldn't believe it, when the truck driver called to inform me that he would be by my house in 2 hours. What a pleasant surprise! And the car was just a bit dusty...
