2000 Miles, 28 Driving Hours, 9 States... in 3 days. A first-timers experience

This review is strictly about AmeriFreight, the broker, and not the transport company.
- -Methodology: I went to Transport Reviews and looked at the top 3 highest-ranking companies, which AmeriFreight was included in this list. After submitting my requirements online to these three companies, AmeriFreight came back with the lowest quote; therefore, I contacted them via telephone to discuss the details.
- -Contact: I spoke with Jorge at AmeriFreight and only dealt with him through the entire process, which was good to have a direct line to the same person time and time again when I had questions. He was very knowledgeable and explained the process to me in terms that I could understand, which was:
1. As the broker, they put out an inquiry to see if any of the companies they do business with will transport the vehicle at the cost that was quoted.
2. If a company is available, the company can respond with either "yes, for the quoted price" or "No, but I will do it for more money."
3. The broker then gets back with the customer and presents the counter-offer which the customer can either take it or wait for another offer.
- -My experience: I took the first offer that came through that was ~$300 more than what was quoted, but was in line with the quotes from the other 2 broker companies I had originally contacted. So, I was not surprised. Upon acceptance of the contract, I then paid Jorge for his services and the transporter arrived within 6 hours. The transport service arrived at the destination before I did so the vehicle went into storage until I contacted them for delivery 7 days after pickup, which they delivered the same day I called. During this 7-day period, on occasion, Jorge would call to see how the process was going which was comforting to know that he was monitoring my vehicle movement.
- -Conclusion: Overall, I was very satisfied with the service that AmeriFreight... and Jorge... provided for my first-time transporting a vehicle. From a first-timer's perspective, there are many different companies / brokers to choose from and I am glad that I used a broker because they are in tune with the industry and I felt as if I had an advocate working on my behalf if needed. While my vehicle did encounter some minor damage through the process, mediation was done on the spot of delivery and all parties were satisfied with the outcome to the point that the next time that I use a transport service, I will request the same carrier to move my vehicle. 5 Stars for AmeriFreight.
