To be honest, I had literally no idea what I was doing when I started going through the process of shipping my car cross-country. I read a lot of reviews through this site and through the Better Business Bureau and that led me to Amerifreight. I was extremely hesitant about this whole process because I had no idea what I was doing. Finally after all of my research, I went with Amerifreight.
I got in contact with Rachael at Amerifreight and she definitely helped put me at ease through the whole process.
Rachael was very patient and courteous through emails and phone calls, especially because I was usually calling other people mid-conversation. She was consistently helpful and assisted me through the process.
When the 7th day approached that my car was up for bid, Rachael helped advise me to increase the price. I was getting desperate for a car since I was now out in California and I had started the process in New York. So, I trusted her and I think it was the next day she contacted me saying that they had a truck that was going to take my car.
The process got a little messy here because I was coordinating with family and the truck driver. It was very last minute that they said they would pick the car up, so it took some flexibility on my family's part, but they managed to get the car on the truck. My mom was told by the driver that the car would be in California earliest Sunday night, possibly Monday, or latest Tuesday morning (8/18-8/21). Monday afternoon I still hadn't heard anything about the car, so I got in contact with the driver. He said there were 2 cars behind mine on the truck and they were supposed to get delivered so I would have my car later Monday night and they'd give me an hour's notice when they were going to deliver. At 730 (8/19) I called and they said they wouldn't be able to get the car to me until 4:30 Tuesday afternoon. This was a little frustrating because I was told I'd have the car by Monday night. However, I went with it.
The car ended up getting delivered Tuesday (8/20) around 3:00pm. It was in good shape only dusty. There wasn't any damage which was great, because I was having nightmares about it. The truck drivers were also very nice and friendly, which I think added to the experience.
God forbid I ever have to do this cross-country move again, I would probably call Amerifreight again because of a very positive experience.
