I had to relocate from the west coast to the east coast for the first time, and was very apprehensive about shipping my car, especially reading so many bad reviews online. After getting a few quotes, which ranged from $800 to $1200, I ultimately chose AmeriFreight. Jorge quoted me a value of $945.
Once I accepted the offer, Jorge, who was working with me, posted the availability of my car. I got several offers over the course of a few days and each time, Jorge phoned me and emailed me promptly, and was very responsive to all my phone calls and messages. He was understanding of my need to have my car delivered after a certain date (since I was moving and would not be able to pick up the car until a given date). Within a couple of days we got a carrier, CAA Transport, which was willing to take my car for $1050. I thought this was reasonable since the policy that is given says AmeriFreight can raise your quote by as much as $200 (make sure you read the policies to prevent any surprises, things are stated pretty clearly). Anyhow, Jorge did a good job as the agent, was patient and clear, and did his job. The car was picked up on the date promised and delivered pretty much within the time window (6 days; I was promised 7-10).
CAA transport picked up my car on the date stated by AmeriFreight. The only confusing thing was that they called me up separately and said they'd pick up my car 2 days earlier- but never showed up, and ended up picking up my car on the original date. Hard to reach them after hours since their voice mail box was full.. The pick up time was on the correct date, but the driver called me 3 hours before planned time window and wanted to pick up the car within the hour. My car was picked up by an individual flatbed, and I was told it would be loaded onto a larger truck. I was contacted the date before arrival and told that the car would be unloaded at a service station along a highway since the truck could not unload in my residential neighborhood. The station was not too far away from home. I was given about an hour and a half's notice by the truck driver by phone.
All in all, my car got to where it needed to at the promised time, no scratches or damage.
I would recommend AmeriFreight again with Jorge's assistance.
