I had my old Chevelle stored on private property outside Los Angeles as I had moved to Pittsburgh and at some point would get the car in the future.
I got notified that the person who was taking care of keeping the car on his property had to remove the stored cars on his property immediately. I wasn't expecting to deal with moving the car till summer and now have to figure out a plan quickly.
I didn't have any experience with shipping a car so I turned to the internet. I read reviews on transportreviews.com along with articles from eBay, cars.com and others who listed the best auto transport companies. AmeriFreight was always at the top or near the top of recommended sites.
I also read a it about the choice to use a broker or find my own carrier. I decided to use a broker because with a broker they handle all the details and also if their is a problem with a carrier they can go to another. I read often that a broker is the best way to go if you want to be more secure.
AmeriFreight found a carrier quickly at a price within the range hoped for and was close to where my car was. They found Buzetti Trucking with Jose Buzetti as the contact.
Buzetti trucking picked the car up no problem when they said they would. I was in the hospital that day and asked Jorge at AmeriFreight to keep in touch with the carrier to make sure the car is picked up ok because I was not able to communicate easily. Jorge notified to me that the car was picked up.
Communicating with Buzetti Trucking and AmeriFreight was always fantastic and they always were available to answer my questions and coordinate the drop time and site to go smooth.
I was wondering exactly what kind of carrier my car was on and was happy to see that when the car arrived that Buzetti Trucking was the kind of carrier you usually see new cars being transported on to the dealer.
Jose was great at getting my old car started and getting it down safely from the trailer.
My total cost was $250 to the broker AmeriFreight paid by credit card when I decided to hire the carrier. AmeriFreght does not ask for a fee in advance to look for a carrier, only when you agree to the carrier they found and a set pickup date scheduled. Totally straight up business!
When the carrier arrived, I paid $650 in cash as requested.
My total cost was $900 which is fantastic for moving a large car and going 2,500 miles. Gas and Hotels would have cost the same to do it myself, not including the cost to fly from PIT to LAX.
My experience with AmeriFreight was fantastic and I highly recommend using them.
