Readers are perhaps aware that a $50 discount is offered by AmeriFreight for a committment to write a review, and that the review judged best for the month will win $100. i just note this so that all viewers are fully informed. i will still try do characterize my experience as accurately as possible from my perspective. i had a very undesirable car to transport. It had a missing front wheel and the remaining three tires were flat. Plus it was November approaching Thanksgiving. It was a small hatchback -so it at least had that going for it. It took quite a while to get any interest in transporting the vehicle and that was only after raising the price from approx $650 to $1250(which was discounted $50 by AmeriFreight for my commitment to write a review). Graham at AmeriFreight informed me of an available carrier who would be able to pick up the car the day before Thanksgiving. i accepted the offer and then received an email confirmation from AmeriFreight and a note that they had billed my credit card for the $200 broker fee. i contacted the tow yard owner to let him know the carrier would be there the next day. Well, the carrier never made it that day. The yard owner was mad because he said he "waited all day" and that the carrier driver had called and said he would be there. The carrier called me the next day and said he had broken down and wanted to pick the car up on Thanksgiving. The tow yard owner was demanding $150 to open the yard on the holiday. i tried to contact the after hours contacts that Graham has given me at AmeriFreight, but no one EVER responded to my calls and messages -not even after the holiday. The carrier driver said that he was not contractually bound his original pick-up date. We ended up splitting the additional $150, so my transport cost was actually $1275. Graham and Jorge are courteous on the phone, but once AmeriFreight got their payment there was no one to be reached. i will let the readers decide what to make of the whole thing...am i being too generous in my ratings? i do wish you a better experience with transporting your vehicle.
