Initial quote was $995 and estimated timeframe was 5-7 days for pickup. I agreed to conditions on 12/27 and a driver was able to be found on 1/9 and I was told he could pick up 1/10 but not without increasing the rate to $1450. I expected that one factor may need to change but I certainly didn't expect 2 weeks and also increasing the cost 45%. Driver didn't actually pickup from dealership until 1/14. The contract was done through email but when I had questions about what was going on I got the sense Amerifreight did not want anything documented in email or on voicemail. I specifically asked on a couple occasions for a emailed response because I didn't want to be on the phone at work and was tired of playing phone tag. That request was ignored and I was informed it was preferred to talk to me in person to let me know what was going on. It certainly could be the time of year that slowed it down and I'm sure they feel the need to lowball the quote to complete with the competition. I was also looking for bids on uship and the going rate was $1500-$1600 so the final price was probably standard. Don't expect to pay the quoted price just pay more and get it done quicker right off the bat. I felt like once they found a carrier to handle the shipment I was expected to work the rest out with them. If my contract is with Amerifreight I expect them to handle it from start to finish and have them hold the carriers they choose to stated pickup dates. The carrier didn't let me know the drop off day/time until 30 minutes before, excuse me but I'm not unemployed and waiting around all day for you to show up. I didn't hold this against Amerifreight as they make it perfectly clear to rate them separate from the actual carrier, I just thought I'd throw it in since it may be helpful for others. Overall not very impressed but final price was probably the going rate.
