This is my first time shipping a newly purchased car from IL to CA. I felt very nervous in the beginning because I did not know anything about shipping a car from state to state. I did not know what to do until I found AmeriFreight website which provided me very helpful information about the entire process. After researching all that, I called Bob for a quote. He explained everything very clearly and answered all my questions regarding pricing structure, insurance, many what-if scenarios. I got a very good initial quote for the shipping. However, it is just an offer that they think the carrier will accept. Also, the typical time frame to have a carrier/driver accepting your offer is about 5-10 days. I went ahead and booked the shipping without paying anything yet. 3 days later, Jessica called me and said there is a carrier ready to pick up my car but the driver demanded $250 more. I talked to Jessica multiple times who was very good at communication and helpful in getting the price down. We negotiated back and forth and I ended up paying $150 more than the initial quote. Good thing is that you can make the decision to turn it down and wait for the next available driver or accept the deal. I wanted my car as soon as possible so I accepted the deal and paid a deposit of $200. Next, Jessica provided me the driver contact phone number. I called him and he told me about the pick up time, delivery date and all other logistic information. He picked up the vehicle on time at the dealership and inspected everything together with the sale guy who signed a bill of landing. Finally, he delivered my car one day earlier than promised. I went out to pick up the car. The car arrived little dusty but with no major damage. I inspected the car and compared it with the bill of landing. They look the same and i signed the bill and payed the remaining money to the driver. AmeriFreight company makes car shipping very efficiently. If you want to ship your car especially for the very first time without knowing anything, give them a call and let them handle it for you.
