AmeriFreight did an amazing job finding a company to ship my car and they did it for an extremely reasonable rate. My fiance and I just moved across the country for a job opportunity and needed a way to get my clunker to our new home. There was no way it was going to make it all the way to Oregon from North Carolina (especially over the Rockies) so we were really concerned about what to do. Most other companies charged more than the car is probably worth and had estimated delivery dates of over two weeks. Renting a truck and towing it was also pretty much out of the question because it was outrageously expensive and dangerous unless we hired a professional driver, which added even more to the cost. And then we found AmeriFreight!
AmeriFreight's website is so user-friendly and easily navigable that I was able to set up a quote right away. The company does not charge for the quote and does not require you to take the quote after they have given it. Everything is completely free until the customer decides to enter into a contract. I received a quote within minutes of requesting one and it was beyond reasonable. It was THREE TIMES cheaper than the cost of renting a truck and towing my car. It was nearly the same price as my ticket to fly to our new home! Of course, one big concern was whether or not the company and its dealings are legit as this seems like an industry that could be rife with fraud and theft. However, AmeriFreight put my mind at ease pretty much immediately. The contract (which is supplied PRIOR to any monetary commitment) clearly states the dos-and-don'ts so there is no fear of weird loopholes or shady dealings. Every step of the process is outlined and detailed and you are immediately appointed a customer service rep with whom you will deal exclusively. The deposit is a relatively small amount and the total does not have to be paid until you receive your car in the same condition you left it. It all sounded great and it was.
My service rep, Graham, was prompt, professional, and competent. He made efforts to contact me any time he had any information for me or needed any from me. He was able to find a driver for the original, low amount specified in the quote and my car arrived in a pretty timely manner in exactly the condition I left it.
In short, I would absolutely recommend AmeriFreight to anyone who needs a vehicle hauled for any lengthy distance. I ended up having virtually no issues with something that I thought would be an enormous headache and I managed to save approximately $1500 in the process. There was very little required on my part, for which I am extremely grateful, and for which I think anyone making a significant move will be grateful as well. What I thought would be my biggest hurdle became the easiest part of the move, all thanks to Graham and AmeriFreight.
