Contacted Amerifreight to move my son's car from Colorado Springs, CO to Vallejo, CA. I was given a quote of $1,195 (inclusive of AFTA) and an estimate of 3 days to move the vehicle. The moving company that handled the actual car transport is Elite Fleet, Inc. I received an email stating that the estimated date the vehicle would be picked up was on Monday, May 12th. The driver did not show up even the following day so I called Amerifreight. They were not even aware the pick-up was not done so they called the carrier. I later got an update that the carrier had to do some welding repair hence the delay, and that I should not be worried since carriers have a 2-day leeway from the estimated pick-up date. The car finally got picked up on Thursday, May 15th - - - 3 days after the estimated date. The estimated delivery date was May 15th but of course due to the previous delays, the car ended up being delivered after 1:00 AM on Monday, May 19th.
The delays were a big issue since we made arrangements to have people at hand to release and receive the vehicle. This was a personal favor our friends accorded us and the delays impacted their weekend plans.
I have no problems dealing with Dustin and George of Amerifreight, even with Albert of Elite Fleet as these gentlemen have been courteous throughout the process. However, the companies' inability to meet pick-up and delivery dates is a concern especially considering the amount we paid for the transaction. I just hope that in the future, they will be able to deliver what they promised.
