Contacted AmeriFreight about shipping my newly purchased car from a dealership in New York to the SF Bay Area. Their quote and reviews showed them to be the best choice. They quoted me a price of $1,250.
However, the fine print allowed them to charge an additional $250 - without my consent... Well they did in fact charge me the additional $250 - making them about the same price as everyone else....
The car arrived very late on the day that they said to wait.... Told me it would be there by 2 pm - but the car did not arrive until well past 5 pm....
On top of everything else, AmeriFrieght said that if I left a GOOD review, they would refund me $50..... I feel that this is blackmail - especially with the shady bait n' switch tactics on the "variable" pricing contract....
Soooo.... I guess I'm out another 50 bucks. I don't think I would have received the refund anyway. I wouldn't recommend this service.
