Needed to ship my car across the country. Initial quote was for $1k but after poking around and talking to a customer service person in online chat, it sounded like it could take a long time (or never) for a trucker to pick up that bid. Since I wanted to get my car shipped ASAP, I asked them to put out a bid for $1300 (250 goes to Amerifreight, the rest to the trucker; their commission of 250 stays the same even if you raise the bid, so they have no incentive to scam you). Lecia put out the bid and called and emailed me back in less than 24 hours to get my approval for a trucker who offered to ship my car at the rate proposed (Balasa Transport). Truckers picked up my car on the first available day I had listed and delivered it on the day they promised. Pickup was right at the beginning of the window they gave me, drop off was about an hour late, but they stayed in touch via phone. Didn't hassle me or try to keep me from inspecting the car upon arrival which was great. Lecia stayed in touch as well and didn't abandon me as soon as she got her commission. My main advice to someone using AmeriFreight would be to call your agent right at the beginning of the process so they can explain the bidding process and get a sense of your situation. I wasted a lot of time trying to find out everything I wanted to know from their website, but it seems like the process varies a lot depending on your individual situation (how quickly you want the bid picked up, your start and end destinations, what you want to pay, etc.). Just call them. Good service, super easy! AmeriFreight did ask me to submit this review, but they did not offer me anything in return for agreeing to do so. I agreed to review at the beginning when I signed my car shipping contract in hopes that if anything it would inspire them to provide me better service!
