Ken was my contact at Amerifreight.
He was very friendly and laid back about the entire process. This definitely helped mitigate the stress I was feeling about shipping my first car 3000 miles! He was incredibly knowledgeable, and answered every question I had without hesitation.
He had a carrier within 24 hours for me. Awesome!
Now, the carrier is another story. Universal Auto Haul, LLC.
Terrible communication, terrible customer support, etc.
Arrived 5 hours late at pick-up without a phone call. Delivered the car two days after they said they would, without calling me. (I had to chase them down via phone to find this out.) I skipped classes to meet them for a pickup before 10 am on my street. I waited till 8 pm, calling them several times, and getting no good answer about arrival times. I was already upset at this point, missing class during finals for no good reason. He finally called me about 8 pm saying he was 1 mile from my house and couldn't make it closer with his truck. I had to walk in the dark to meet him on a busy street and try to unload my car. They ship to Boston all the time, and know my neighborhood and my streets. After guaranteeing door delivery, I was very irritated that they didn't bring a smaller transport vehicle to insure such, instead making me trek in the dark to meet them...
Overall, I would absolutely use Amerifreight again, but I would never use Universal Auto haul again...
