I'll start off by saying that this was the first time I used a shipping broker. My contact, Lecia, was great to work with and was very personable and very helpful in answering questions.
Things that I think can be improved upon...
1. For a first timer, I think the process could have been explained a little better upfront. This might just be part of the struggle when you do something new too.
2. I had a shipper cancel on me. There was no communication that it had happened until I had called in to find out what was going on the day after the pickup date was missed.
3. Once another slot opened up I was emailed about the availability. By time I responded, it had already been filled. Don't know why they would rely on email for something that is time sensitive.
Outside of that the experience was pretty good. I believe Amerifreight truly only uses shippers that they have had very good experience with. In my specific case (location reasons), I do believe I probably could have saved a little bit of time and money going directly to a shipper. But I do not believe that will hold true in every case.
