I was importing a 1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R from Japan and to be honest, the process was pretty smooth using an auction agent and a customs broker. Most of the paperwork was done on my behalf and I just had to provide signatures and make some confirmation calls after it arrived at port on a boat. Then came shipping the car within the states. It seemed like a real hassle after reading about the horror stories of 3-week wait times and damaged arrivals but choosing Amerifreight made it easy, all things considered. My order number was 1501599058-LS and Jennifer was very responsive and helpful even when a snag came up. The trip was short, only from a Georgia port to North Carolina, and honestly I wanted to pick it up myself but didnt have the required TWIC card for port access. Amerifreight found me a carrier within 48 hours but unfortunately the car had a dead battery on arrival, an issue I had not accounted for but should foreseen considering the long period of not being driven, and it wasn't picked up. I thought it would be a major problem but Jennifer was able to get me a new carrier with a portable jump box pretty much the day after we found out. Long story short, the battery was jumped, driven onto the carrier and delivered to my front door later that day. All at a very competitive price compared to other companies I had contacted. When an auto transport company can deliver your car as expected faster than most packages go through the mail, you know they are doing something right!
