Good customer service but deceptive low-ball initial estimate

I transported my car from California to Indiana and decided to use Amerifreight because of its stellar reviews and the much lower initial quote. The initial quote was ~$200 less than other companies I contacted, but I ended up paying ~$600 over the quoted price to ship my car. Danielle, the service representative, was very efficient and responsive. She followed up after pick-up and delivery of my vehicle. The carrier she found for me was courteous, and my car arrived without any damage. Her service deserves 5 stars. Danielle did explain summer car shipping might cost more, but I didn't expect it to be so much more expensive than the quote. The large difference between the quoted rate vs. actual cost is the reason I can only give 3 stars to the company.

We appreciate any and all feedback from our customers. We are sorry that this customer's experience was not as expected. When transporting a vehicle, each customer is provided with several shipping rates dependent on time constraints and budget. This customer opted for our Economy Saver Rate. This rate has a higher likelihood of the rate increasing, but it still quite frequently saves our customers hundreds of dollars below the industry standard rates. We hope that this customer will give us another opportunity to assist them with any further auto shipments they may need in the future.
