I decided to retire from y job in Baltimore and wanted to relocate back to the south. The thought of making the long drive made me physically ill. I decided that I would look into shipping my car and went online and completed a request for information from different brokers. Several of the brokers made me very uncomfortable because they were just to pushy. When Richard Jernigan of AmeriFreight( remember the name), contacted me, he actually sent tips on how to ship a car and things to do and look for in a shipping agents. The information was very useful. I contacted Mr. Jernigan who communicated often and was very clear and concise when explaining the process. I felt that he actually cared about my car and me. I had arranged to have my car picked up before my move, but someone crashed into my park car two weeks from the pick-up date. As you can imagine, I was very upset. I contacted Mr. Jernigan, who had to redo the paperwork and find another transport company to pick up my car a month from the original date. He also arranged for the trucking company to pick my car up from the auto repair shop and I was able to still leave Baltimore on the schedule date. Two things; 1) if you decide to ship a car, please check with AmeriFreight and 2) make sure Mr. Jernigan is the person that handles your account. I am not receiving any payment for these comments. I just feel that people and companies are recognized when they provide extreme good customer service.
