Using Amerifreight

Please note that I had a conversation with Chantel about my disappointment with a number of things.

First, I had trouble with faxing the order document. I tried twice and it did not go through. I called to report that the fax was not working. When I called someone suggested that I scan the document and send it as a pdf file through email. I did this. When I talked to Chantel to complain, (after the delivery was complete), she said that the fax was simply busy (receiving other faxes).

The main mix-up was, when the order was received and my credit card charged, I was told that there would be a Saturday pick-up. I was told that the driver would call me on Friday evening to make the arrangements for the Saturday pick-up. I received no phone call on Friday evening and waited until mid-Saturday afternoon to receive a call. Then I called Amerifreight. The customer service representative was very helpful. She contacted the carrier and then the driver called me to arrange a Monday pick-up. The driver apologized and said that he never received the paperwork on Friday and wouldn't be able to pick up the car until Monday. Sean from JMT Transport did pick up the car on Monday and delivered it by Friday. The car's condition was fine.

Chantel investigated whether or not the driver (or the driver's company) had received the paperwork on Friday. She found out that company actually did receive the paperwork and they should have found a way to get it to the driver in time for a Friday night phone call.


I was glad that Chantel clarified the unsettling situations described above and I thought the price for the transfer of the car from Taylors, SC to Boulder, Colorado was very reasonable.

We apologize for the high call volumes and may consider adding another fax line to assist in dividing the workload. AmeriFreight always go beyond the expected to ensure that our carriers carry out our and the clients instructions. Sometimes for reasons beyond our control communications may be less than expected between a carrier and our customers. It is unfortunate that this review included non performance of the carrier as part of our service to the customer. We will continue to improve on reducing carrier issues as best we can and appreciate positive feedback.
