Shipment from CA to MA went well

I had a pristine car shipped from CA to MA and overall it went well and ultimately the car was delivered a day earlier than projected unscathed with no damage. My car was initially picked up and brought to a depot for loading onto another long-term hauler. I was not notified about this and had concerns and had to follow up multiple times to clarify where I ultimately learned that this was the shipping company's regular practice. Also, car was not delivered to my door and I had to go to a local parking lot which luckily was only about a mile or so from my house. It was explained to me that the the shipping company tries to avoid going down residential roads due to trees which can scratch cars which seemed like a plausible explanation. I bought the gap insurance and everything happen so quickly I had received the policy "after" the car was already picked up where there was some actions to take detailed pics of the car to demonstrate condition of the car which luckily was done. I would have thought that the gap insurance policy should have been provided "before" I purchased so I would have know the conditions of compliance. I recognize my review may be a little overly critical and specific to a little better communication would have been expected but overall and most importantly I received my car in the condition that it left after travelling across the country which I was very pleased!
