No real surprises, but not impressed

The cost was more than the quote, and it took twice as long as expected to get our vehicle picked up. I chose Amerifreight based on Transport.com reviews, not to mention is was one of the lowest quotes and the company was BBB accredited. We were quoted $680 minus a $50 military discount. The order was very easy and the company was not difficult to reach on the phone. However, after 5 days our vehicle had not been picked up. Amerifreight moved $50 from the deposit to the carrier (NOTE: this is NOT a $50 savings to you - it is simply $50 that Amerifreight does not make and the carrier gets instead to "sweeten the pot"). A week later (12 days after the order was placed), we were told that a carrier had been found but for $70 more than the original quote. We took the offer and the remainder of the transaction went smoothly. I am sure this is very common for this type of service no matter who the broker is, especially if the quote is lower than most others. We may use Amerifreight again but would be more aware of the realities of a vehicle move.
