Overall everything was fine but did encounter a few headaches. I used Amerifreight to ship a car from Chicago to San Diego, and then back to Chicago 2 months later. The first transport went very smoothly. There was some confusion about being able to get a carrier in time for my first pickup date but it was cleared up and the carrier delivered on time.
My second transport was tougher. The carrier picked up on time but then gave no updates at all about delivery. The carrier missed the estimated delivery date. I then reached out to Amerifreight asking about a status update and letting them know about the missed deadline, but got no response. So I looked up the carrier information on my own from my confirmation materials, called the carrier who couldn’t give me any information on the phone, and gave me the number of the truck driver to contact. I tried calling the driver repeatedly but he wouldn’t answer, and text messages were blocked. The next day, the driver called and asked us to come pick up our car from various locations miles away because his truck would not be able to reach our home. Which of course we couldn’t do because we didn’t have a car to get there. After going back and forth for a while, he finally agreed to drive the vehicle to our home. At that point, Amerifreight finally responded and just told me to call the carrier, which I had already done about 12 hours before.
