I had originally signed with Cascade Moving Services- as they were very responsive when I initally solicited moving quotes, and their price was the lowest. HOWEVER, the week of my scheduled ship date, I called them to check in and see if they had a carrier scheduled, and my account rep said 'oh, your move is this week, eh... well, its always a little tough to get carriers into Virginia.'- I was moving from Vermont, not Virginia! Then, when I still had not heard from Cascade as of the last day of my scheduled pick up window, I again called them and my rep indicated 'we haven't given up yet, we're still trying.' I did not know 'giving up' was an option! We were under contract!
So, I quickly called America's Moving Service, who helped me with the move of my household items and was incredibly helpful throughout the process and asked if they could ship my car. They indicated that they do not ship cars, but recommended AmeriFrieght as the only car shipment company they work with. I took their word and I was glad I did!
Jonathan was incredibly helpful, and scheduled a carrier 2 days from our first point of contact- the carrier picked up on a Sunday night (as the previous carrier was supposed to have picked up by the preceding Friday)! And the car arrived 2 days early as well. The carrier was extremely friendly and stayed in touch as to his progress. I paid about $300 more than I was originally quoted- but at least my car made it to my destination, and the transport company didn't see 'giving up' as an option! Its worth the extra money to know you are in good hands and the deal will actually get done!
