Rip-off

Initially, Diane was very helpful and answered all my questions. I immediately explained that I was relying on a friend to assist with pickup since I would already be gone. She assured me that there would be appropriate contact from AARP prior to pickup so my friend could expext trucker. About May 16, she told me vehicle would be picked up on 5/19. I called my friend on that afternoon and he had heard from no one. I called AARP and was told pickup was going to be Tuesday afternoon or Wed. morning and they promptly hung up before other questions could be asked. Wed. my friend called to say no trucker or call ever occured. I made innumerable calls to AARP starting Wed andcontinuing Thur. morning. Finally, at about 10:30am I was connected with customer service person(Elaine?) and she immediately claimed car was to be picked up that afternoon. When I questioned why no one was returning calls or informing me, she claimed I was rude and SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!
Later that night, I left a phone message as well as an e-mail cancelling contract. On Friday(5/23) at about 10:30am Diane called saying trucker is ready. I asked why no advance notice was given but she claimed she had to terminate call so she could call trucker. I have had no further contact.
Needless to say, I have contacted my credit card company and initiated dispute of the charges. I am shocked to read the favorable reveiws posted since I beleive these people at AARP are complete scam artists. NEVER USE.

The information that the customer is not telling you is that he changed his pick up date multiple times. We had already sent two truckers to pick up and the car was not ready. After those trucks, we had no one for another two weeks, but we scheduled him on that truck. We told him many times that we would call him when the next truck was there, and when we called him to set up specific timing he told us he was cancelling. We immediately refunded his account what he was owed.
