I have read many reviews from other customers or perspective customers and feel awful that they had such bad experiences with American Auto Transport, but I must admit that my experience was a pretty positive and satisfactory one. I was overall pleased with the service received with transporting my car from Los Angeles, CA to Annapolis, MD. At the beginning I was quite upset at not being able to connect with AAT’s customer service division when I was in a crisis situation, but in the end, the company came through for me with flying colors! Originally I set up my transporting with another company “Nation Auto” in Florida. I was speaking with Richard for a month and was convinced by him that everything was scheduled and I thought all was in place after our last conversation. Unfortunately, they “FAILED me terribly”! . . . . . I was suppose to have my car picked up on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 12-noon, and as I waited in desperation for them to arrive, to pick up my car “all-day”, no one came, and no one tried to contact me to inform me that they would not be coming to get my van. I was so upset as I already had my ticket to fly out of Los Angeles LAX on Friday 8/26/2016 and desperately needed my car to be transported before I flew out. It took me calling all-day to finally connect with Nation Auto to find out that they couldn’t help me at all! I was informed that they could not find a truck available who had space for my van and would not be picking up my vehicle as I was informed by Richard! I was re-locating to Maryland o find employment and care for my 95 year old mother, and had to put personal items in my van as it was being transported. I was extremely anxious at this point because I was afraid at the last minute that I would not find another transporter who would allow this and I was on my way - to leaving California, and could not remove these items.
At this point, I immediately contacted American Auto Transport and they jumped on this order immediately! They scheduled me for pick up for Friday and “they SHOWED” up as scheduled! AAT did not give me a hard time having my personal property in my vehicle, as other transporters would not allow items to be placed in your vehicle. I had to leave very early on Friday to get to LAX to catch my plane and didn’t have a lot of time to re-arrange all of this! I prayed that I could trust and depend on American Auto Transport, and that they would not fail me with their commitment, at such short notice. Thank GOD my Son was able to arrange to come to the location where my car was located, to assist with the arrangements to place my KIA van on the truck. The driver informed my son that he would arrive to the drop off/delivery destination within 10-12 days. I was fine with this, as my concern was to have my vehicle transported safely across country and to have it delivered in good condition, with no issues! My deposit was $150 – paid with my debit card, with the balance of $900 due upon the arrival of my vehicle. The driver informed my son that with the items in the car, my delivery cost “MAY BE” increased by ($50-$100). I sort of expected this. The customer service representatives were very informative and kept contact with me after a couple of days to let me know an estimated day and time for the arrival of my vehicle.
Alan Schmidt was great with ensuring me that all was well with the transporting process, and provided me with the driver contact information. The driver from A1 Trans (Mr. Kang) was respectfully contacting me to give me an update on the arrival information while he was on the road. The car was actually delivered “Right on Time” on the day and time that the driver informed me he would (Tuesday – September 6, 2016 @ 11:00am)! I was very “Happy” to receive my baby back in Annapolis, Maryland. The location of the delivery was very easy and accessible for the size of the delivery truck to arrive without incident! My car was delivered in good shape (as it was given to the driver) without any noticeable issues and all my personal items were safe and secure! I was extremely pleased and tried to understand that the driver had many other vehicles to deliver along the way to Annapolis, and had no problem with the delivery day & time! Mr. Kang “DID NOT” charge me any additional funds for the personal items. I was so grateful I gave Mr. Kang a nice cash tip and his co-driver as well, because I was very pleased with the transporting process with American Auto Transport and the drivers!
