We just completed our move with America's Choice. The company did a good job of answering our questions. They gave us a 1-7 day window as to when the cars would be picked up. Since we were nervous the cars wouldn't be picked up before we moved to MD, we gave an early window. They ended up booking our move even before the first scheduled date. That was a little inconvenient because we weren't quite ready, but we were happy the cars were picked up early and on their way.
They contracted out with a company called Overnight Auto Movers. We met with the driver, Lenny, who was great. A guy named Ray is the owner of the company. Since the cars were getting to Maryland before we were, Ray said that he would hold the cars in his lot until we got there. Also, he would arrange for us to be picked up at the airport.
We did get picked up by our driver's wife, and she drove us to our cars. They seemed to be in pretty good condition, although there are some mysterious spots on my husband's car that are not coming off.
The main problem we encountered with the Auto Movers is that we could not get a receipt from them. We continually called the driver and the owner, and after 2 weeks of the run around, still no receipt (we paid with a cashier's check, were promised the receipt in a couple of days.) I called the guys every few days, and they kept saying that they put, or would put, the receipt in the mail, or fax it to us. Never happened. This lasted from August 1 - 15.
I was so frustrated that I decided to call the broker, America's Choice, and see what they could do about it. Ann, who was very helpful throughout the whole process, immediately called Ray and told him that she was upset. He faxed me the receipt a few hours later.
Overall, I would recommend America's Choice - they were helpful, friendly, and intervened when I needed them to (we got the receipt from them for our downpayment right away). Just a few headaches with the actual moving company.
