Let me start this review off as stating that I’m the type of person who likes to be in control of these types of things. Leaving it up to a third party was very nerve racking for me. If I could do it over again, I would drive the car myself. But in the end I did receive my vehicle with no damage – so it all worked out – it just cost me an extra $100 that I wasn’t ready for.

Like many others, I found Angel’s from this site and based on the positive reviews I decided to give them a try. I was moving a recently purchased 2005 Mini Copper S from Spring Valley, NY to Buffalo, NY (400+ miles). I’m a Canadian importing this vehicle into Canada so timing was crucial. Since I could only cross the border with the car between the hours of 8-4 M-F, I needed the car delivered in the AM.

When I called Shannon to request a quote on 2/23, I told her I was quoted elsewhere at $495 and asked if she could match this? She told me the best she could do was $500. She stated $100 went to Angels and $400 went to the driver upon delivery. I agreed and was billed for the $100. An auto transportation contract (#477228) was emailed to me re-stating the shipping cost of $500. I requested the car to be picked up on 3/1 and delivered on 3/2. The car was picked up on 3/3 and delivered to me on 3/6 AM. Angel’s relayed the carrier’s info (Express Auto Transport) and I was keeping in contact with their dispatcher – Maria.

When I spoke with Maria (2/28) to get the latest on pickup info, I wanted to reconfirm the price of $400 to the driver. She told me NO, it’s $500 to the driver. I instantly called Angels (Shannon) and was passed on to Stephanie. Stephanie told me the quote was for $600 ($100+$500). I told her no, Shannon quoted me $500. Stephanie could not find this quote (even though I have an email copy of this) and said there was nothing she could do, the rate of $600 stands. She then resent an auto transportation contract (same number #477228) for $600. I was a day away from pickup and there was nothing I could do but agree since everything was already in place with the dealership.

Now that I have the car in my possession, I’m writing this as I did not want to start anything that could jeopardize my vehicle and its condition. Since Angels worked out the deal with the carrier I never argued price with Express. My contract was with Angels and I would have expected and/or expect that I would have been refunded the $100 as Angels originally quoted me $500 and it instally went to $600 without contacting me.

On a side note: Maria from Express was very helpful and friendly and never seemed to be annoyed that I called her numerous times. She was well aware of my timing issues and did everything she could to have my car delivered in the AM – which she came through with. I never once had to call the driver. Everything was done through Maria.
A++ with Express ….
C- with Angels ….
