Well worth reading if your looking at shipping a vehicle !!!!
I contacted Angels Transport from their reputation on this forum. Without a doubt, this was an excellent experience as it was my first time shipping an auto. The price was cheaper, the customer service was better than I could ever expected. Communication between myself and Angels was great. Once the vehicle was picked up by Vehicle Relocation Service out of Tampa, Florida. I was kept abreast of the shipment. Jim and Steve run a quality operation. They knew that the SUV had to make the SeaLand carrier by a certain time so that the vehicle would reach Anchorage, Alaska by a certain date. Once it reached Tacoma, Washington and was released to AADA Systems I was in contact and they told me when the ship would leave and would confirm once the vehicle arrived at its final destination. It arrived and I was contacted by Cory, whom I made the initial contact with.
Pleased with the transport of my vehicle would be an understatement.
Here is where I would like to make a few comments in reference to some of the less than perfect feedback I have read on this forum:
Angels is a "BROKER", they sell a service. This service has a fee that they charge for providing you a transport company to take a vehicle from point "A" to point "B". They use carriers that they have used before or who they checkout and have no bad reputation. They do this to prevent a customer from having a bad experience. They are not responsible for anything that happens during transit. I am sure they try to make sure nothing goes wrong, but they can not be held responsible if for instance your vehicle does not arrive on the exact date, the carrier has to reschedule a pickup, or there is damage to your vehicle in transit. All these issues fall to the next level which is the carrier. Angels as I said was a "Broker". They do not own the trucks that transport the vehicles.
Just for the record, my move was from Vero Beach, Florida to Anchorage, Alaska. It was picked up on time, it was delivered to Tacoma, Washington ontime. It arrived in Anchorage, Alaska on the exact date that it was scheduled. There was damage to the vehicle of a broken mirror. A paper trail follows each vehicle from the time it was received by the transpot driver when he gives you a copy of the inspection. When the vehicle is transfered as mine was to a Sealand Carrier it was inspected by both the driver and the receiving agent. Once the vehicle reached Alaska and the new owner received it. It was inspected. Vehicle was damaged more than likely while loading in SeaLand container. Claim has been filed and after the holidays two estimates will be submitted and new owner will be reimbursed.
I am a retired over the road owner operator with twenty five years experience. I used brokers all the time. When shipping a vehicle with anyone, no matter who. Remember some of the points I have made. Your experience will be better for it.
