As a small business owner, I pride myself in customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, Around the Globe Auto Transport does not share that philosophy. One of their salepeople, Ronnie Banks assured me 100% that my vehicle would be picked up by a certain date when I first got their online price quote, great price and I let him know that. Well, it never happened and Mr. Banks seemed to have fallen off the planet as next you are handed over to the Dispatch Dept, that is after being placed on hold for long periods of time everytime you call, or hung up on, blaming it on phone problems. Then there were the numerous story changes about when my car would be picked up, which it never was. The next day I gave the job to another company. It was clear after speaking to a supervisor named Julie, that she was more concerned with reading me from their company contract, rather than understanding my point, which was Mr. Banks will promise anything(aka lie) in order to get the job. In fact when I made it clear to her that I was going to contact the BBB, she then let me know I would not get my full deposit back. When I backed down, she agreed to return my deposit and send me a confirmation e-mail. Well by the end of that day, no credit, no e-mail. I called my credit card company and had the charges reversed. Hello, BBB?
LOOK OUT. Once Ronnie hangs up the phone, apparently he washes his hands of the whole thing and throws it to dispatch, who then gets upset because they have to deal with low quoted jobs that no truckers want to pick up, and having to listen to guys like me give them an earful because of their lack of professionalism. Granted, this process was only over the course of six days, but after getting the runaround from two other shipping companies, it was clear that this company was no better. I made it quite clear to Mr. Banks when we first spoke, that I would give him the maximum six days he told me he would need and how unhappy I would be if it did not happen. And that I did not want to play anymore games. I guess he thought I was kidding. I agreed to his price and his terms. And I was betrayed.
