So... having never had to transport a vehicle before, and having read a whole bunch of horror stories about unreliable drivers, late deliveries, damage, delays... it was enough to give me anxiety just reading reviews. Add to that... I'm buying a car I've never seen in person, from a dealership... and a lot could have gone wrong.
I spent a whole bunch of time reading reviews of different companies. What a lot of people writing these reviews don't seem to understand is... most everyone you as a buyer of these services will work with will be a company that is *brokering* the actual truckers who carry your car, as ASG is. So what you're really paying for is the **relationship** your broker has with the various truckers and trucking firms who actually drive the big trucks vehicles, and their **knowledge** of which truckers are the good ones, and which are the ones to stay away with. That's probably the most valuable part of the transaction, at least to me.
Felicia had come recommended by a friend who had recently used ASG, so that was a big plus. I spoke to about 4 companies before deciding, but in the end, Felicia's knowledge of the market, the level of detail on routing and cost options, her clear explanation of how everything worked, and her prompt follow-up as I had questions is what sold me (along with my friend's recommendation.)
So in the end, it was a no-brainer. I picked ASG, and called Felicia to schedule the pick-up. She had a firm pick-up date arranged less than a day after I called, and it was within 48 hours of my first-available pickup time. And... it was a "quick" delivery... door-to-door, coast to coast, it took a bit less than 6 days. The trucking company she chose, Ramaz Trans, were totally professional. On the pickup, they notified us a day in advance of the window they'd be there, showed up within that window, and everything went very smoothly.
Felicia checked in several times with me to update me as it got closer to delivery day. And as far as arranging the actual delivery, Teona from Ramaz was a delight to work with. Friendly, helpful, and clear. The actual delivery itself took about 10 minutes. The outside of the car had the normal dust and dirt you'd expect from having driven across the country in rain and messy weather, but that cleaned up in about 5 minutes in the car wash. And everything was perfect! Oh, and the final price actually ended up being about $75 **LESS** than I was first quoted. How often does that happen?
I think any time you are working with a broker who is relying on independent truckers, there are opportunities for things to go wrong, but what impressed me here was just how on-the-ball and responsive Felicia was in handling everything. It made me feel at ease that she was working with truckers she regularly works with, and has a network of such people to call on, rather than (as I've gathered from talking to some other brokers) just entering the job into a database and waiting for someone to bid on it.
ASG wasn't the cheapest bid I got. I had a couple that were maybe $50 lower. But... if you're transporting a vehicle worth tens of thousands of dollars, to me it was well worth it to have confidence in the broker I chose to work with.
I would recommend Felicia and ASG without hesitation... and, by the way, I'm writing this review simply because I like to reward people who go the extra mile. A great customer experience is plenty of reason for me to take the time to write a review, because we need more people like this, who care.
