First off this is a review of the carrier not of us AutoGo the broker. Second, the client agreed to our terms and conditions which clearly state in line
6. Door-to-Door Service means the truck will get as close to the stated address as is legally and safely possible. Customer and his agents agree to meet the truck at a large parking lot for pickup and/or delivery if requested by the transporter.
I tried to explain this to the Mr. Koski multiple times and was cursed at and hung up on. The vehicle is a 1972 Chevy Suburban. The vehicle was picked up in operational condition and arrived with a dead battery and a flat tire. Individuals at pickup location could have done a quick charge on the battery or aired up an already flat tire. Who knows? Mr Koski wasn't charge anything extra by us or the carrier for the vehicle being inoperable. The fact that the carriers winch did not work is irrelevant. If we knew there was a possibility the vehicle wouldn’t start at delivery we would have requested a carrier with a winch system and charged the client accordingly.
4. The customer agrees to make full disclosure to AutoGo regarding operational status of the vehicle prior to finalizing this agreement. If the customers vehicle is unable to be driven on and off the transport under its own power, if the vehicle’s brakes are insufficient to stop the vehicle, or if for any reason the vehicle is found to be INOPERABLE, a minimum charge of $125 will be added at customer’s expense, no exceptions. Transporter’s minimum INOPERABLE fees may be greater and will apply if warranted.
Mr. Koski was either unaware or did not disclose the potential condition of this 40 year old Suburban. There could have been several reasons for the carrier feeling that they could not safely get to the address but this was stated in our contract that Mr Koski agreed to. I am sorry that this transpired, and would have liked to work this out with the client and the carrier but by the time I was contacted, both parties were irritated. This is an unfortunate situation.
We have used this carrier in the past and have never had any issues.
