Autostar gave me a fair quote, under promised and over delivered. I worked with Andrew O'Driscoll and he seemed very knowledgable and honest. Also, he explained to me that if I wanted to wait a few weeks that he might be able to move my car for less because of light loads returning to Florida in the Spring. I didn't wait and I also made the mistake of calling another broker when Andrew didn't get back to an email quickly enough. That ended up costing me another $100 because Autostar had to negotiate their driver back down from the other quote he was given from my second broker call. Andrew could have followed up his email a little quicker, but I should have followed up with him before letting another broker request the same move for a higher quote.

If your looking to move your car across the country or any great distance you will likely have to choose a transportation broker. They will broadcast your request to truckers who will transport your vehicle for the quoted amount, less the deposit which the broker typically keeps for their services. The system is efficient, similar to how real estate agents use a multiple listing service to sell homes. However, you have to do your homework if you wish to choose a broker that will not quote too high (for whatever reason) or is likely to over promise.

Dear Wayne, Thank you kindly for taking the time to leave us a 5 star review. You have passed on some valuable advice to others looking to transport their vehicles but let me add a little more to it; 1) Do your research choose only a 5star rated reputable broker, this website is a great tool for that. 2) Only choose one broker to work with as it just drives up the price of your transport, it's like having two people bid on the same house for you, you will get the house but in the end it costs you more. 3) Let the broker do his/her job, here at Autostar we are never the most expensive nor the cheapest as our goal is to get you the best price for you the customer but on the other hand pay the driver an honest day's pay (especially with the price of fuel going up). 4) I know that it can be tempting to choose the cheapest quote especially in today's financial climate (we all want a bargain) but if you pay peanuts you get monkeys!
