It seems like there’s been a couple of oversights in Mr. William Kaupelis’ commentary. First, he booked with several other brokers at the same time to move the same car. Particularly with us, he booked the order via our online booking system and voluntarily paid the deposit at the same time and at his own will.
The next day (after his booking), we were able to assign a carrier for pickup on the exact date he requested. As we per usual, we called the customer to advise of the details of the arrangement with the assigned carrier but instead, he told us that he made other arrangements.
In other words, we were hired to locate a carrier, which we did, and the contractual terms and conditions of the contract (which he agreed to) clearly state that once we have rendered services to the customer by locating and assigning a carrier, the deposit is non-refundable.
We wish the customer well.
