I chose Autostar because their quote was much cheaper than any other shipper, and it turned out to be a huge mistake. I wanted to ship my vehicle from Boston to San Diego, and they quoted 1 week. The driver they contracted out was a completely illegitimate business called Prince Royal Logistics. He refused to pick up my vehicle at the pickup location, and I had to drive to a rest stop along a highway. There was no paperwork involved, and the transport vehicle looked like it was about to fall apart. A week into the trip, the driver notified me that he had broken down in the desert. A few days went by and then the driver said he was back up and running, but then broke down again. The driver asked me to send him money via cash app or zelle, so that he could pay to fix his truck. At this time (over the weekend) Autostar had no agents available to advise weather or not to pay him, so I chose not to. A few days after (now 2.5 weeks after the pickup) the driver said he would be delivering the vehicle. Once again, the driver refused to drop off the vehicle at the proper location and demanded I meet him at a Walmart. Upon arrival, my vehicle was covered in sand, and the driver told me they had been in a sandstorm. Once again, no paperwork whatsoever. When I washed my car shortly after, I noticed a large crack in my windshield. I contacted the Autostar and the driver and he said he would send “one of his guys” to fix it. My vehicle is new and has a camera in the windshield that requires recalibration after installing a new windshield, so I told the driver I would be getting it done at Safelite. He then tried to say that actually the windshield was not damaged by him, so I decided no stop communicating with the driver. The driver then repeatedly called me, calling me a coward, and threatening to come to my place of work and tell my coworkers that I am a racist. Autostar provided the driver with my name, contact info, company name, company address, and my home address, so, this crazy man harassing me had access to all of this information. Autostar did nothing to solve this matter, and simply told me that they thoroughly vetted the driver before contacting him. I eventually filed a claim with the drivers insurance company, which was denied. Autostar took no responsibility, so I was left stranded and had to pay almost $1000 for a new windshield and recalibration. Spend the extra money and have your car shipped by a reliable shipper.
